About The Position

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our Pediatric team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents in a rural healthcare setting. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive pediatric care to our community.

Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • A current Board of Nursing License to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state practicing
  • A valid Board of Nursing License as a Registered Nurse in the state practicing
  • Must maintain current BLS certification
  • Current Florida APRN license
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification required or Family Health Nurse Practitioner with prior pediatric experience
  • Prior pediatric clinic experience required

Responsibilities

  • Focuses on patient and family education and assists patients and their families in their efforts toward recovery and rehabilitation
  • Monitors patient care and treatment
  • Document all patient care within an electronic health record
  • Respond to patient care inquiries throughout the day
  • Increase patient engagement and satisfaction through integration of feedback from patients, management, and professional colleagues
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment
  • Provide pediatric primary care including wellness visits, acute visits, and chronic disease management
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage common pediatric conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with state regulations
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and support teams to ensure continuity of care
