About The Position

Children's Mercy is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join their team in Kansas City. This role offers an opportunity to practice in a highly collaborative environment within a nationally recognized children's hospital. The position involves providing anesthesia to a diverse pediatric patient population undergoing a wide range of procedures. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to focus on clinical work, academic endeavors, education, teaching, and research. The team utilizes a team-based approach to care for 100% pediatric patients and offers opportunities for both independent case management and supervision of anesthetists, residents, and fellows. Requirements

BE/BC in Anesthesiology
ACGME fellowship trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology
Eligible for medical licensure in the States of Missouri and Kansas
Unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, collegiality, antiracism, and respect for inclusion of individuals with diverse backgrounds
Willingness to be vaccinated for seasonal influenza
Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
Share values and enthusiasm for service
Ability to maintain professional relationships with fellow employees, patients, parents and visitors

Responsibilities

Provide anesthesia to 27,000 children per year.
Provide coverage in the pediatric operating rooms, procedure suites, and radiology.
Practice clinical work.
Engage in academic endeavors including education, teaching, and research opportunities.
Care for a 100% pediatric population using a team-based approach.
Perform own cases and supervise anesthetists, residents, and fellows.
