About The Position

Shriners Children’s Ohio, in partnership with Dayton Children’s Hospital, is seeking fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists to join their perioperative team. This role is based at Shriners Children’s Ohio, on the campus of Dayton Children’s Hospital, with a clinical practice split of approximately 20-40% at Dayton Children’s Hospital. Shriners Children’s Ohio focuses on expert surgical care for children with complex conditions, including craniofacial surgery, cleft lip and palate repair, acute burn care, burn reconstruction, and select plastic and reconstructive procedures. The position involves caring for a diverse range of pediatric patients, utilizing advanced techniques such as regional anesthesia, ultrasound-guided blocks, advanced airway management, and anesthesia support for laser scar revision procedures. Anesthesiologists work in an all-MD model without CRNA supervision, managing one operating room daily. Approximately 90% of clinical time is spent in the operating room, with occasional responsibilities in preoperative assessments and PACU care. Surgical schedules vary from one to five days per week. Physicians collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pediatric burn surgeons, plastic surgeons, physician assistants, perioperative nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and recreational therapy staff. This position includes a rotating 1-in-4 home call schedule. There are no resident or fellow teaching responsibilities within the Shriners program.

Requirements

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology required
  • Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Eligible for Ohio medical licensure
  • MD or DO
