About The Position
The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a Seasonal Pear Tester for their Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This role is responsible for inspecting fruit and sizing pears, including testing the temperature and pressure of pears in ripening rooms twice daily. This is a seasonal position supporting the fresh pack season, typically from August to November.
Requirements
- Follows all Food Safety Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices, GMPs.
- Ability to wear a harness and get in forklift basket to inspect pears on trucks.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
- Ability to perform the work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to November.
Responsibilities
- Use harness and get in forklift to inspect the size and quality of pears on the truck.
- Mark and tag the bins.
- Document the origin of pears, temperature, and pressure of the fruit.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
