The Office of Medical Education (OME) within the University of Colorado School of Medicine (SOM) is seeking multiple Pathway Directors for the Peak-to-Peak Accelerated Three-Year Pathway (A3YP). The Pathway Director is aligned with a specific clinical specialty and training site at Denver Health in the Pediatric medical specialty. The Pathway Director will provide leadership for students participating in the A3YP within their designated pathway and residency program. Candidates must be able to obtain a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and applicants must be a board-certified physician with an MD or DO degree from an accredited University. This is an at-will position and will be available at a 0.05 FTE (salary support plus benefits) equivalent. Positions will be named as soon as an appropriate candidate(s) is identified and with funding to begin as soon as named. The School of Medicine’s Office of Medical Education is developing A3YP curricula with several core goals: 1) medical student debt reduction, 2) workforce development in specialties and communities in need, 3) innovation in time variable medical education and precision medical education, and 3) facilitation of transition between UME and GME. Students will matriculate into an A3YP after acceptance to the CUSOM through a collaborative process between UME and GME leaders in each A3YP program. Students will participate in a structured accelerated UME program with tailored curriculum focused on professional identity formation, mentorship, project development, and clinical skills development tailored to their clinical setting and specialty. Students will participate in a directed pathway match at the end of their 3rd year in medical school and transition to the designated GME program.
