As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, participants will engage in real projects, contribute to a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth over two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while developing valuable skills. At Peacock, the Data Science Internship integrates participants directly into active teams working at the intersection of content, technology, and culture, providing a hands-on experience. Interns contribute to real-world data science projects with defined responsibilities, goals, and timelines aligned with team objectives, gaining exposure to modern tools and the broader media landscape.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
• Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked.
• Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
• Submit a one-page resume that outlines your work experience, accomplishments, and your graduation month and year.
• Submit a cover letter that highlights your passion for NBCUniversal and your top areas of interest.
• Upload a transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine) that confirms your status as an actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program.

Nice To Haves

• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Prior experience with Forecasting with ML and/or statistical techniques.
• Advanced working knowledge of statistics and its applications for inferential data analysis.
• Working knowledge of deep learning models and development frameworks such as Tensorflow or Pytorch.
• Familiarity with TensorFlow, Spark, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with data visualization techniques and concepts.
• Working knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Experience with PySpark is preferred.
• Experience processing large amounts of data in a cloud environment, like AWS, GCP, etc.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning and statistical models to analyze customer journeys and predict lifetime value.
• Transform and engineer high-quality data for modeling.
• Collaborate on developing real-time and batch data pipelines to operationalize solutions.
• Leverage both structured and unstructured data sources.
• Contribute to improving codebases and machine learning infrastructure.
• Actively participate in all aspects of team collaboration.
