About The Position

The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a junior-kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, is seeking a Physical Education (PE) Teacher and Assistant Athletic Director to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. Meadowbrook is a mission-driven school and we invite candidates to familiarize themselves with our mission before applying for the position. We seek a dynamic and motivated educator to teach Physical Education to students in Junior-Kindergarten through 5th grade. The ideal candidate is passionate about movement and wellness, possessing an understanding of the social-emotional development of elementary-aged children. This role combines lower school teaching with a leadership and administrative component as the Assistant Athletic Director, supporting our Middle School sports program. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree preferred) in physical education, elementary education, or a related field.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certified as well as knowledge of concussion protocols (impact testing, return-to-play)
  • At least two years of teaching experience.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to being a lifelong learner and honing your craft as an educator.
  • Employees must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, either currently or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or training in Responsive Classroom is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate PE curriculum that challenges students and promotes a well-rounded education.
  • Support students in their increasing confidence, teaching them how to become self-advocates and developing valuable skills related to leadership and responsibility.
  • Engage fully in all aspects of educating young children, demonstrating a passion for the development that takes place during the elementary years.
  • Foster an inclusive school experience and demonstrate a background or interest in cultural competency and technology integration.
  • Help plan and execute the annual Field Day and support other school-wide wellness initiatives.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and collegiality with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Support the Athletic Director in promoting athletics throughout the entire school community and maintaining a visible presence.
  • Expectation to coach, or assistant coach, multiple Middle School athletics teams.
  • Manage scheduling for all teams, including confirming games and dates with opposing schools.
  • Assist in the orientation and daily support of seasonal coaches.
  • Coordinate and confirm bus transportation with the Auxiliary Programs department, helping to problem-solve for logistical challenges.
  • Oversee game-day logistics, including meeting with referees, collecting paperwork, and organizing home events.
  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of athletic equipment and uniforms.
  • Help with departmental communication and updating the school’s athletic website.
