PCVD Process Engineer

Micron Technology•Boise, ID

About The Position

Micron Technology is hiring a PCVD Process Engineer for Micron Idaho Semiconductor Manufacturing (Triton) LLC. The role creates, develops, and optimizes processes to improve product quality, process yield, cost, productivity, and risk management, while resolving manufacturing-line problems. The engineer identifies, diagnoses, and resolves process-related problems using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, and SPC/FDC methodologies. The role coordinates and carries out process, equipment, and material evaluation and optimization; implements changes at process steps; leads and participates in yield-improvement and cost-optimization activities; qualifies new process baselines; and manages, audits, and collaborates with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk-mitigation objectives. The engineer supervises assigned process health, ensures high-quality output, and develops proactive redundancy plans for bottlenecks that could affect fab cycle time or turns. The employer will accept a Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

  • Five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience with CVD/ALD or PVD thin-film deposition, including process qualification, fab-to-fab transfer, and tool-to-tool matching.
  • Knowledge of DRAM semiconductor fabrication and process integration, including downstream process interactions.
  • Advanced data-analysis skills using JMP or Python.
  • Experience with process control using SPC and FDC systems.
  • Ability to apply physics, chemistry, and mathematical principles to analyze deposition processes.
  • Experience using Design of Experiments (DOE) for multi-variable process optimization across multi-chamber systems.
  • Experience with defect analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for yield improvement.
