About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a Step Down Registered Nurse to independently work in our Cardiac Specialty Unit, performing direct patient care. You will utilize the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet patient/family needs. This role involves overseeing the patient care team, coordinating care plans, and ensuring patient care meets safety, effectiveness, and patient rights standards. You will prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care using nursing skills and evidence-based guidelines, provide education, and advocate for patients. Accurate documentation and adherence to infection prevention initiatives are crucial. The Step Down Registered Nurse continuously evaluates patient condition, collaborates with the healthcare team, and manages environmental and system resources for patients and families.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license.
Two or more years of recent critical care experience.
Current AHA BLS Certification.
Current AHA ACLS Certification.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Basic computer knowledge.

Nice To Haves

Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Master’s degree)
CCRN preferred
Additional languages preferred.
