About The Position

Responsible for assisting registered nurses in the care of all patients in the Patient Care Unit. He/She performs or assists in the completion of all activities of daily living for patients, prepares patients for treatments, diagnostic procedures, and assists interdisciplinary health care providers as needed. He/She also assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties. He/She anticipates discharge needs of patients and communicates with the primary nurse and the charge nurse in a timely and appropriate way. He/She ensures safe and efficient care of all patients, performs tasks in a timely manner, and performs in line with the mission and vision of the facility. He/She demonstrates ethical and appropriate behavior, adherence to all policies and procedures, and maintains all educational requirements of the position.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • BLS Certified

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a nurse aide or technician in acute care/hospital setting
  • Current/unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of North Carolina

  • Elevating concerns to charge nurse or nurse manager as appropriate, reporting problems through the chain of command.
