About The Position

PCT (Patient Care Technician) at Scotland Memorial Hospital - Nursing: Progressive Care. This is a part-time position on the 3rd shift. The role involves performing routine personal care, assisting patients with activities of daily living, ambulation, turning, positioning, transfers, and range of motion exercises. The PCT will also assist patients with nutrition and elimination needs, perform special procedures as assigned, document care provided, and observe infection control measures. Staff members must have knowledge of human growth and development across the lifespan and be able to meet the needs of patients in various age categories. The role also includes self-growth and education, maintaining a clean working area, following patient safety guidelines, and performing duties as outlined in the scope of a Nurse Aide II for Scotland Health, which includes tasks such as oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, wound care, urinary catheterization, and phlebotomy.

Requirements

  • 1 Year Cna Experience
  • Current North Carolina Nurse Aide II listing on the NCBON, Aegis
  • Demonstrates Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal.
  • Diplomacy, Tact, And A Positive Approach To Problem Solving Are Required To Be Successful.
  • Organizational Skills Are A Must.
  • Fosters A Teamwork Environment.
  • Must Be Able To Communicate With Patients, Customers, Other Departments, And Staff In An Articulate Manner.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine personal care and assists with activities of daily living for patients.
  • Assists patients with body mechanics such as: ambulation, turning, positioning, transfer to wheelchairs/stretchers, and assists with range of motion.
  • Assist patients with nutrition and elimination needs.
  • Performs special procedures as assigned and notifies the nurse of any abnormal findings.
  • According to scope and nursing policy and procedure, documents nursing assistant care provided to patients.
  • Observes infection control measures.
  • Staff members will have knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and have the ability to meet the needs of and provide the care of these patients.
  • Responsible for self growth and education to maintain competence.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, orderly working area.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or required.
  • Follows patient safety guidelines (for example, patient identifiers, labeling specimens at the bedside, etc.).
  • Performs duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide II for Scotland Health ( per North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide II tasks list).
