Our Patient Care Novices work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in providing high quality patient care at Franciscan Health. This is an excellent opportunity to learn hands-on care and gain experience recognizing signs and symptoms and how to respond. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT This is a cross trained position for Postpartum, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery 24 Post-Partum beds 8 Pediatric beds Under the direction and supervision of the RN, perform patient care activities as needed of the patient population(s) served in the unit/department. Contribute to patient care in a safe environment as well as maintaining equipment, supplies, and stock in a safe and efficient manner. Communicate effective data and significant patient information to the attention of the RN. Document data collected during the provision of patient care in a timely manner. Under the direction and supervision of the RN, perform patient care activities as needed of the patient population(s) served in the unit/department.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Nursing program
  • Must have successfully completed year one Nursing Fundamentals at their approved school of nursing to qualify for PCN-1.
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction and supervision of the RN, perform patient care activities as needed of the patient population(s) served in the unit/department.
