About The Position

Motorola Solutions is seeking a PCB Assembler to join their Applied Technology organization. This role involves working on unique, challenging projects applying leading-edge technologies to support security and safety. The department engineers products from start to finish and manufactures them in-house, focusing on low volume and high capability with specialization in areas like software-defined radios, advanced antenna solutions, AI/ML, cybersecurity, and signals intelligence. The PCB Assembler will be responsible for basic printed circuit board assembly, rework, and modification, following work instructions and procedures for assembling products of varying complexity. They will also perform visual inspections of their own work, maintain good housekeeping, and adhere to safety and department policies. The role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, use various assembly tools and equipment, and sit at a microscope for extended periods. Collaboration with designers, engineers, and quality personnel is expected, along with basic computer skills. IPC certification is required within 3 months of hire, with training provided.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated printed circuit board assembly experience to include soldering of surface mount, through-hole, and wire technology.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contractors.
  • Ability to use numerous types of equipment and assembly tools, including microscopes, soldering irons, tweezers, calipers, picks, scalpels, hot plates, epoxies, etc.
  • Ability to sit at a microscope for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Complete IPC certification within 3 months of hire (training will be provided), or have current certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Basic electronics a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Basic printed circuit board assembly, rework and modification.

  • Assembling product of varying degrees of complexity.
  • Visual inspection of own assembly work.
  • Maintaining good house-keeping, safety, security, and adherence to Department policies, and procedures.
