This is a part-time position where associates will prepare the treatment room for examination of pets and all necessary medical items and supplies for the veterinarian and/or veterinary technician. Responsibilities include setting up fecals, smears, and skin scrapings as allowed by state rules and regulations. The role also serves as support to the Client Services Coordinator, Veterinary Assistant, and Veterinary Technician. Duties involve holding or restraining pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation, preparing routine in-house laboratory tests, and monitoring the comfort of hospitalized patients. This includes exercising, feeding, and cleaning cages and pets as approved by the veterinarian or veterinary technician. The role also involves bathing and dipping pets when necessary to treat dermatological conditions and cleaning the surgical suite and instruments. Ensuring the cleanliness of the hospital through housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, mopping, cage cleaning, trash collection and removal, and instrument cleaning is also a key responsibility.
