PCA / Lifestyle Enrichment Professional
About The Position
This position works both as a Lifestyle Enrichment Professional and PCA (Personal Care Aide). Responsibilities include assisting residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene. It also involves assisting residents in preparing for and transporting to and from medical appointments, activities, and social programs. The role includes checking residents' vital signs, measuring weight and height, and recording data as instructed, reporting any variances to the Charge Nurse. Additionally, the position requires answering resident call lights promptly to attend to needs and frequently checking those who are unable to call for help. Assisting residents to walk with or without self-help devices, as instructed, is also a key responsibility. The role supports the Lifestyle Enrichment Coordinator with the development and execution of activity calendars, requiring flexible scheduling for coverage, including evening and weekend hours as assigned. Providing on-going Lifestyle Enrichment (group and self-directed) is also part of the job.
Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one year of Activities preferred
- Professional experience with geriatric residents in a Personal Care Home preferred.
