PC Pump Technician
About The Position
This role involves preparing products for testing, assembling pumps according to customer orders or senior technician direction, performing pump tear-downs and inspections, and completing testing with detailed reports. The technician will ensure testing meets specified requirements, operate a lathe, and use equipment like overhead cranes, skid steers, and Bobcats for moving products. Responsibilities also include painting and stamping stators, grinding rotors, contributing to lean, quality, and safety initiatives, adhering to schedules including on-call duties, loading/unloading trucks, verifying shipments, and performing general housekeeping and facility maintenance.
Requirements
- 3+ year’s experience in same or similar role
- Microsoft Outlook considered an asset
- Strong communication skills; verbal and written
- Able to work in a team environment
- Works well independently with moderate supervision
- High attention to detail
- Able to perform moderate labour tasks
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Training
- HSE Orientation
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent considered an asset
- Overhead crane, skid steer, bobcat experience considered an asset
- CNC experience considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare product for testing; identifying proper components needed
- Assemble pumps as per customer order and/or direction from Senior Technician/Shop Foreman
- Perform pump tear down and inspection
- Complete testing and prepare testing report
- Ensure testing meets specified requirements
- Operate a lathe
- Use of overhead crane, skid steer, bobcat to move product/material as required
- Paint and stamp stators as per MO requirements
- Grind rotors when welds are complete
- Actively contribute to lean, quality and safety initiatives
- Adhering to a schedule set forth by Foreman, including on-call duties
- Load/Unload and secure product on delivery trucks
- Verify truck load to ensure conformance with shipping documents
- General housekeeping; vehicle, yard and facility maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
