About The Position

This is a full-time position for a PC Machine Operator on the 3rd shift. The role involves tending machines that perform packaging functions such as filling, marking, and labeling. The operator is responsible for starting and monitoring the machine, making minor adjustments or repairs, inspecting filled products, and ensuring products are packaged according to specifications. The position also requires good time management, feeding product to conveyors, and mounting supplies. The company is a family-owned business that develops and manufactures custom sauces, seasonings, and dry coating systems for various industries.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have mechanical experience and/or a good understanding of mechanical functions.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into a computer and touch screen.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds as needed during the shift.
  • Stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Talk and hear.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Tends machine that performs one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, and/or labeling.
  • Starts machine and observes operation to ensure machine is operating properly.
  • Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, changing cutting dies, setting guides, clearing away damaged product containers, and setting machine zeros.
  • Inspects filled packs to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
  • Demonstrates good time management in choosing the best time to send your line to break when the lead is unavailable.
  • Feeds product to conveyors.
  • Mounts supplies such as film on spindles.
