About The Position

This internship is for analytical and strategic thinkers who are curious about data and possess strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills. The intern will assist in the creation and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI or Excel, performing impactful tasks for multiple business units. The program follows an 80/10/10 approach: 80% meaningful work, 10% learning and networking, and 10% shared internship experiences. Requirements

Current undergraduate college student, working toward a college degree in data analytics, statistics, or a similar field.
Advanced knowledge and experience with Excel required.
Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Must be a self-starter, take initiative and be highly motivated.
Strong communication skills, both written & verbal.
Able to work full-time (8am-4:30pm M-F) summer 2027.
Able to work in-person at our home office in West Des Moines, IA.
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
Not requiring any type of immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

Assist in the creation and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Excel.
Provide support to underwriting and claims teams by identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement.
Perform ad hoc analyses to answer business questions and provide actionable insights.
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and transform data from enterprise databases.
Assist with data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate reporting.
Document data definitions, business rules, and analytical methodologies.
Participate in corporate activities designed to provide exposure to the industry, organization, and culture.
