About The Position

This role focuses on managing client insurance needs within the commercial lines sector, emphasizing excellent customer service, client retention, and efficient processing of insurance-related tasks. The Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, handling policy transactions, and ensuring accurate documentation and communication with both clients and insurance carriers. The position requires a strong understanding of insurance principles and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Appropriate insurance licenses in each state where business is being solicited.

Nice To Haves

  • Transportation or trucking insurance experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Address all aspects of client insurance needs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain client retention by conducting annual reviews, providing stewardship reports, insurance schedules, and proposals.
  • Manage pre-renewal activities for premier clients.
  • Handle endorsements, invoicing, file setup, and accounting issues.
  • Perform new business processes, including obtaining signatures and required documents.
  • Validate policy accuracy and deliver welcome packets.
  • Review necessary corrections with clients and carriers.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and carriers to review policy and premium agreements.
  • Process policy transactions.
  • Issue binders, insurance certificates, auto ID cards, and other required documentation.
  • Manage, organize, and conduct client meetings (virtually or physically).
  • Coordinate client renewal meetings/calls to ascertain changes in risk exposures or program concerns.
  • Initiate applications/submissions, assemble loss and exposure histories, and create marketing documentation.
  • Review and validate ratings, premium and tax calculations, and premium-bearing endorsements.
  • Interact with underwriters on diverse matters.
  • Provide analytical support to clients and offer solutions to routine problems.
  • Respond to underwriters’ queries promptly.
  • Offer guidance to clients on submitting first claims reports.
  • Execute policy renewals, issue proofs of insurance, and deliver or cancel policies.
  • Prevent any lapse in coverage.
  • Maintain a high level of precision in managing agency and document systems.
  • Act independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
