About The Position

This role involves managing incoming calls, relaying emergency messages, contacting personnel, and reporting telephone issues. The position requires a high school diploma and offers variable hours ranging from 7 am to 12 am.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Effective computer, spreadsheet, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, maintain confidentiality, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Ability to retain and repeat pertinent information.
  • OCCASIONALLY: Decision Making, Flexing/extending of neck, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Problem solving
  • FREQUENTLY: Computer skills, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Interpreting Data, Repetitive hand/arm use
  • CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Hearing acuity, Seeing – Far/near, Sitting

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of experience as PBX operator or one year of experience with multi-line phones, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming calls and directs them to the appropriate department or person.
  • Places outgoing calls as requested by employees and management.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all calls made and received.
  • Greets visitors and directs them to the appropriate area or person.
  • Provides general information to callers and visitors as needed.
  • Assists in training and onboarding new staff.
  • Relays emergency messages by announcing various alerts and warnings over the paging system.
  • Contacts personnel as necessary and directs them where they are needed.
  • Reports any telephone problems.
