The PBX Operator position in the Communications Center offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Emergency Management and customer service. As a PBX operator, you will learn valuable skill sets applicable to professional settings, emergency/disaster dispatch, information assessment, call connectivity, data entry, and interpersonal relations, preparing you for success in any emergency dispatch or call center career. You will gain essential knowledge by working with emergency notification systems, Conveyant Teledirectory, patient location systems, public address systems, and security dispatch radio, which will assist with interdepartmental and community communication and safety. The Communications Center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing full service to the hospital and all outlying properties. This position combines customer service call center skills with emergency response to effectively offer a constant source of communications for all emergent and non-emergent connections and notifications. Operators are responsible for maintaining a constantly growing knowledge base and applicability to best serve the connectivity and notification needs of the organization in a prompt and accurate fashion.
