This position is responsible for maintaining the continuity of patient care by connecting incoming calls to the proper personnel, placing outgoing calls to family members or other health care facilities, and contacting providers through the Medical Exchange system. The PBX Operator will also enhance customer satisfaction by answering the service recovery hotline (5555) in a timely manner and notifying the proper personnel. Additionally, this role involves checking and viewing security monitors, notifying the security officer on duty of problems, and relaying messages to the security officer on duty by radio or cell phone. The PBX Operator must maintain a professional image, positive attitude, and good guest relations, supporting the CRHS values through positive self-projections. This role will assist and cooperate with functions related to law enforcement agencies, med-flight crews, and CRHS facility personnel. A satisfactory attendance record and low absenteeism are required, along with effective and thorough communications. This is a designated "Safety Sensitive Position" under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas, meaning an employee under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers.
