About The Position

DSHS's Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is seeking a PBX Chief Operator to join our dedicated team at Lakeland Village in Medical Lake, WA. In this position, you'll direct and supervise the PBX Staff and operations at our communications hub. You’ll be the key connection between various departments, security personnel, and critical response teams, playing an essential role in maintaining safety and efficiency. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. Opportunities performed on - site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience as PBX operator or PBX Security Communications Operator
  • Working knowledge of supervisory concepts/principles in the managing of personnel, effective verbal/non-verbal communication, and state resources/equipment
  • Skilled use of computers and Microsoft programs: Word, Access, Outlook and Excel
  • Able to type 32 wpm
  • Graduated from high school or hold GED equivalency

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all PBX staff to include: hiring, training and evaluating staff in proper operation/compliance of all DSHS, DDA, Lakeland Village and accompanying procedures
  • Write/perform performance evaluations on PBX operators
  • Complete Daily Activity Report for timekeeping of PBX operators
  • Disseminate all emergency (STAT) calls related to medical, behavior, fire and disaster
  • Monitor office equipment for needed maintenance, repair/replacement
  • Monitor campus wide Simplex/Grinnell multi-panel fire alarm and fire suppression system
  • Engage in customer service and public relations for callers, visitors, employees and clients
  • Coordinate problems with ISSD that effect operations of switchboard/phone lines
