About The Position

The PBO Balance and Control team serves as an independent team which performs reconciliation, quality control, regulatory monitoring and reporting across the Private Banking Operations Department. We work as business partners to the processing teams including Lending and Banking. Coverage includes performing daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations to identify open and aged exceptions which require remediation from the account owners. Additionally preparing reports, dashboards, metric reporting and performing analysis on report exceptions. The team also helps to support Internal/External audit requests and Regulatory (FOCUS) reporting. Balance and Control has the key responsibility of ensuring completeness of books and records, accuracy of controls and procedures across the departments for products that impact client and firm relationships and associated risks including regulatory, financial, and reputational.

Requirements

  • Intermediate working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to create, modify, and troubleshoot Excel Macros
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint
  • Proven proficiency in problem resolution and demonstrated initiative
  • Excellent organizational / time management skills to succeed in a high-pressure / fast paced environment
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Strong research / analytical, and math skills
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Creative thinker to reengineer some of the current manual workflow processes including Macro development

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, monitor, analyze and distribute daily reports
  • Coordinate reports and correspondence for exception items that require remediation and/or escalation
  • Work closely with the product lines to ensure their operational and procedural requirements are followed
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly key performance metrics
  • Oversee control functions performed by offshore teams to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure that escalation procedures are followed
  • Provide necessary information for auditors during internal and external exams
  • Identify existing and potential risk, and work with other areas to minimize or eliminate the risk
