About The Position

The PB Gel Coater - TDC position is responsible for the successful spraying of prepared plugs and master patterns for the plug/master prep and mold lamination teams, while maintaining schedule and quality. This role involves conducting daily tests for equipment calibration and operation, preparing plugs and masters for spraying, and operating gelcoat/high-build guns and pumps. The position requires maintaining a clean and organized work environment, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and ensuring all operations are performed safely and in accordance with TDC mold fabrication approved processes (ISPC).

Requirements

  • Fully understand gelcoat/high-build component coating equipment maintenance and use
  • Spray booth operation and maintenance

  • Must be able to understand and execute top quality

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily tests for equipment calibration and operation
  • Tape and prepare plugs and master patterns for spraying
  • Make sure that plugs and masters are clean with no contaminates before spraying
  • Set up, operate, and shut down gelcoat/high-build guns and pumps
  • Clean spray guns
  • Spray gelcoat in an even mil thickness, knowing each part’s mil requirements
  • Maintain all booths and equipment clean, neat, and organized at all times
  • Conduct daily routine maintenance of booths and equipment
  • Record material date and batch numbers
  • Ensure all operations are performed safely
  • Store all materials safely at the end of the day
  • Conduct operations using TDC mold fabrication approved processes (ISPC)
  • Understand environmental compliance as it relates to material handling, usage, labeling, storage, and disposal
  • Support continuous improvement utilizing Safety system, Kaizen, CAR system, and other problem-solving techniques
  • Properly maintain all equipment used in their area and workplace organization using the 5S methodology
  • Identify problems within their scope and communicate to the group leader when additional assistance is needed
