About The Position

Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting employees, and ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time? We're looking for a Payroll Technician to join our team and support payroll operations for a multi-location organization. In this fully remote role, you'll play a key part in maintaining payroll accuracy, supporting time and attendance processes, resolving employee inquiries, and helping ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of payroll, accounting, or related experience with a basic understanding of payroll principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience working with SAP Payroll or a similar payroll/business system.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in company payroll systems and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt and remain effective in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Technology, Accounting, or a related field.
  • SAP Payroll experience.
  • Advanced payroll processing knowledge or experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Experience with time and attendance systems.
  • Experience with in-house payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll-related transactions, including direct deposit changes, tax withholding updates, voluntary deductions, and W-2 requests.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide timely and accurate support.
  • Calculate and process payroll corrections, adjustments, exceptions, and on-demand payments.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain employee records within the time and attendance system.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Accounting, and other departments to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
  • Support compliance with Department of Labor (DOL), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and company policies related to timekeeping and overtime practices.
  • Interpret and process child support orders, garnishments, and other court-ordered deductions.
  • Process payments through centralized Friend of the Court (FOC) programs.
  • Run payroll interfaces and assist with payroll calculations, including gross-to-net processing, payroll taxes, and general ledger reporting.
  • Reconcile payroll balances, review payroll controls, and resolve routine discrepancies.
  • Provide payroll data to authorized agencies while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Support payroll tax withholding and deposit activities.
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including the generation and distribution of W-2 forms.
