About The Position

In this role, you’ll take the lead on processing bi-weekly payroll, managing benefits reporting, and supporting employees with great customer service. From reviewing timesheets, issuing direct deposits, to handling W-2s, and processing checks; the Payroll Specialist will play a key part in keeping our payroll operations running smoothly and in full compliance. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with HR and accounting to support key processes and audits while maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy every step of the way.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field OR Associate’s degree in finance or accounting + 1 year OR High school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experience
  • Applicable work experience includes comparable work experience in the payroll field
  • Complete and pass a computer test assessment
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and resources
  • Experience with multi-state payrolls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with UKG Pro/WFM
  • FPC or CPP Certification

Responsibilities

  • Review time sheets for accuracy and issue appropriate approvals.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees.
  • Update payroll records and follow procedures for salary changes and department transfers.
  • Timely reporting of adds, drops, and changes in individual employee benefit coverage.
  • Compilation of required reports for remittance of garnishments and flexible spending account (FSA) payments.
  • Export payroll files, issue payroll checks, and upload direct deposit file to banks.
  • Complete tax payment remittances.
  • Manage federal and multiple state tax filings.
  • Assist with issuance of W-2 statements.
  • Verify qualification for vacation, sick, etc. pay for requesting employees.
  • Maintain active and inactive payroll files.
  • Process checks for termination and special cases.
  • Produce, distribute, and file payroll reports.
  • Provide great customer service to employees with questions related payroll, benefits and taxes.
  • Exercise confidentiality in both internal and external matters.
  • Assist with payroll-related audits and ensuring that all payroll-related processes are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
