About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing the bi-weekly multi-jurisdictional payroll accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with Federal, State and Local Laws.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years of multi-state payroll processing
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Kronos timekeeping software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting and payroll practices
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team
  • A commitment to quality of finished product
  • Ability to problem solve

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly multi-jurisdictional payrolls, including calculating pay for new hires, terminations and employees on leave of absence.
  • Load non-exempt hours files, including those for hourly attorneys and load bi-weekly HR employee and deduction files into ADP
  • Run bi-weekly general ledgers for Finance, overtime reports, and ZBR totals.
  • Audit bi-weekly payrolls for accuracy at the end of each quarter and at year-end to ensure W-2 accuracy.
  • Download weekly 401k reports, including Contributions, Paid Loans and Loan Origination Reports
  • Run reports for Accounting and HR as needed
  • Run ad-hoc projects as assigned
