About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing employee payroll for two locations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies. This role supports payroll-related inquiries, maintains payroll records, and collaborates with HR and Finance to ensure timely and accurate compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or related field
  • 3 - 5 years’ payroll processing experience
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems; experience with Dayforce preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees
  • Ensure accuracy of timekeeping data, including hours worked, overtime, and PTO
  • Maintain and update payroll records, deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Review and audit payroll data to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manage payroll adjustments such as retroactive pay and bonuses
  • Prepare payroll reports for management
  • Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, and employee status changes
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, garnishments, and benefit deductions
  • Manage year-end processing, including W-2’s and audits
  • Support system implementations related to payroll by providing payroll expertise, advising on requirements, and executing testing and validation activities
