Requirements

  • Knowledge of Kronos and experience with shift differentials
  • Typing: 25 wpm.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft office.
  • Strong analytical skills to ensure accurate reporting of payroll.
  • High school graduation or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPP is preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews employee timecards and attendance sheets for accuracy and completeness; contacts appropriate department concerning missing information.
  • Posts timecard/adjustment sheet information to employee records.
  • Prepares timecards for interface.
  • Reviews new hire forms, personnel change forms and terminations received from Human Resources and prepares and processes required documents to record payroll information.
  • Contacts Human Resources or department as required regarding missing information.
  • Receives and answers inquiries from departments and employees regarding paychecks, deductions, accruals and related matters.
  • Prepares and enters manual checks as required, calculating time, deductions, etc. (e.g., for terminations, vacation pay).
  • Maintains employee files.
  • Prepares payroll summary reports and other reports as required by department.
  • Reconciles all reports for outside agencies and organizations (e.g., union, court orders, levies) with payroll run; prepares check requests for amounts due to various agencies.
  • Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Assesses gaps in policies and procedures and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.
  • Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
  • Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Distributes paychecks and to departments as required.
  • Completes questionnaires and forms as required (e.g., unemployment, pension, housing, social security).
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls to maintain compliance with tax regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.
