We are hiring a high-ownership Payroll Specialist to take full responsibility for payroll accuracy, compliance, and execution across a multi-state workforce. This role is critical to protecting the business from compliance risk and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, every time. The right person is detail-driven, system-minded, and comfortable operating in an evolving environment, including supporting payroll system transitions. Requirements

3+ years of payroll experience (100–300+ employees preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel for audits, reconciliations, and reporting
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (required)
Proven experience with multi-state payroll
Experience supporting 401(k) administration through payroll
Strong understanding of prevailing wage
Required understanding of CA labor law and multi-state employer experience a plus
