About The Position

Yext is seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our growing team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and operating the Company's payroll function, processes, and systems, including global payroll, commissions payments, bonuses, payroll-related taxes, and certain business operations. The Payroll Specialist will partner with and work closely with the HR, Equity, and Finance teams. Reporting to the Manager of Payroll Accounting, this person will be a true partner to the organization, always approaching work with a lens of adding value to the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  • 2 + years of recent, hands-on payroll processing experience; global payroll experience is highly regarded.
  • Experience with major Payroll and ERP systems (ADP, Workday)
  • Knowledgeable in payroll tax compliance and multi-state payroll processes
  • Proven ability to maintain data confidentiality and demonstrate strong professional integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with employees, managers and cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity

Nice To Haves

  • Certification Professional Payroll (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, operate and update payroll systems/processes on a daily basis
  • Manage the payroll cycle for assigned Yext entities (international and domestic)
  • Process global payroll, commissions payments, and payroll taxes transactions
  • Investigate and drive resolution to payroll questions from finance and HR teams
  • Work with HR, Benefits & Commissions to develop processes for the timely reporting, recording and review of bonuses, new hires, promotions and other compensation-related changes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and controls, SOX as well as compliance with external laws and regulatory guidance.
  • Promote proper procedure and infrastructure within company-wide teams and groups
  • Work with Equity & tax teams to ensure tax calculations for equity-based compensation awards are prepared, reviewed and timely submitted to payroll for processing
  • Close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and eliminate any subsequent adjustments to payroll
  • Commitment to process improve and reengineer current systems to build an efficient and scalable payroll process
  • Process Restricted stock options recording and Employee Stock Purchase plan management.
  • Maintain the payroll email and ticketing system to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
