The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for a broad range of human resource duties including payroll, benefit administration, retirement, recruitment and training. This position is responsible for maintaining knowledge of public employees benefits, retirement, and self-insured workers compensations, performing payroll and related responsibilities, new hire orientation, maintaining various employee procedures, guidelines and documents, overseeing records and employee databases, and ensuring compliance with departmental, state and federal rules and regulations. Applicants should demonstrate a high degree of initiative and logic, exercise good judgement, exhibit sound decision-making when faced with complex or unique situations, demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and ethical standards and consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion.
