About The Position

The Payroll Processor handles all aspects of payroll processing for Flynn Group's operating divisions, supporting over 77,000 employees across more than 2900 units in the United States. This role primarily utilizes the SAP Payroll system to audit and correct payroll information before transmission, review completed payroll for accuracy, and resolve pay discrepancies. Key responsibilities include garnishment processing, which involves making payments to state and federal agencies, acting as a point of contact for these agencies, and maintaining the garnishment database within SAP. The position emphasizes collaboration and in-person interaction, with employees working from the office four days a week and one day from home to foster innovation and strong team relationships.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a high-volume payroll processing environment.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information; must be discreet, tactful, and mature.
  • Great customer service, collaboration, and interaction skills.
  • Ability to obtain results quickly in the face of conflicting priorities while maintaining a positive relationship with customers.
  • Proficient in Windows-based word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • High school diploma.

Responsibilities

  • Handles all aspects of payroll processing for operating divisions (approximately 77,000+ employees in over 2900 units) across the United States.
  • Works extensively in the SAP Payroll system to audit and correct payroll information prior to transmission.
  • Reviews completed payroll for accuracy and investigates to resolve pay discrepancies.
  • Processes garnishments, including payments to state and federal agencies for child/spousal support and other garnishment types.
  • Serves as the point of contact for state and federal agencies via phone, mail, and email regarding garnishments.
  • Maintains the garnishment database in SAP.
  • Assists Market Accountants with researching month-end payroll discrepancies.
  • Gathers, monitors, and reconciles data impacting unclaimed property reportable amounts.
  • Engages business partners/departments in unclaimed property compliance activities.
  • Supports unclaimed property activities such as audits, reissue of property, and due diligence letters.
  • Stays current on company payroll/HR policies, procedures, administration guidelines, and related regulatory issues for federal, state, and local governments.
  • Provides assistance and information to employees and Operations regarding payroll issues and questions in a timely manner.
  • Maintains clear and open lines of communication between employer, employee, and third-party agencies.
  • Initiates collaborative efforts to resolve payroll errors.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates the payroll process for assigned region/brand in accordance with regulations, timelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Processes and maintains a high volume of input and changes.
  • Prepares and reviews payroll reports of earnings, hours, and deductions.
  • Processes final checks for terminated employees in accordance with state regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepares and distributes information to employees and Operations regarding changes to the payroll process.
  • Ensures checks and direct deposits are canceled, voided, and reissued as needed.
  • Reviews and audits timekeeping records for assigned region/brand payroll.
  • Assists with input of garnishments or completion of mandatory responses according to wage assignment orders.
