The Dobbs brand has experienced significant growth, expanding to over 100 locations across Missouri, Illinois, Texas and Ohio with future growth goals to over 200 stores by 2027. We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead all aspects of payroll processing and compliance. This critical role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-state environment and has a passion for accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a payroll leadership or management role
- Must have extensive experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Deep knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices across multiple states
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Nice To Haves
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees across multiple states
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and internal controls
- Maintain and update payroll systems, employee records, and deductions including benefits and garnishments
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and serve as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries
- Collaborate with HR and Finance on reporting, audits, and reconciliations
- Oversee year-end processes including W-2s, 1099s, and tax filings
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance system efficiency
- Support implementation and optimization of payroll-related tools and software
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll data
