About The Position
Solar Gaines is a leading commercial solar installer serving Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, and Virginia. As we continue to grow, we are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team in helping businesses transition to clean, renewable energy. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team. This position will manage Payroll staff and the day-to-day payroll operations. This position requires a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Requirements
- Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years experience in payroll preparation.
- Required software experience: Foundations, Workmax, and Payroll4construction
- Experience with certified payroll
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to take initiative and be flexible while meeting multiple demands within a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed computer skills including competence & proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to commute/relocate: Hunt Valley, MD 21031: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Administer and perform payroll functions for the company in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles and as may be directed by the HR Manager or Controller
- Delegate the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
- Assist in implementing the day-to-day policies and procedures governing the payroll functions.
- Process and verify time cards/sheets, etc., on a timely basis.
- Prepare payroll checks in accordance with current pay periods to ensure that employee checks are received on a timely basis
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested to meet the company’s needs.
