About The Position

The Ideal Tridon Group is seeking a Payroll Manager to be based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan or Smyrna, Tennessee. This role will initially focus on the Support Systems Division and will expand to manage payroll for all US operations, and eventually global operations. This is an excellent opportunity for career development within human resources, focusing on managing and modernizing payroll processes. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of multi-state (and potentially global) payroll operations. This role ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations while leading payroll systems, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
  • 5-8+ years of payroll experience including multi-state payroll administration.
  • Experience in manufacturing or multi-site operations.
  • Possess industry-recognized credential such as being a Certified Payroll Professional.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Payroll software systems such as ADP.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing payroll processing operations end-to-end for all employees (hourly, salary and international if applicable).
  • Establishing policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions for all cycles.
  • Interfacing between finance and human resource departments to provide accurate and useful information.
  • Developing and producing payroll-related statistical reports.
  • Directing the resolution of complex issues or errors.
  • Ensuring that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Maintaining in-depth understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations, wage & hour laws, benefits administration and garnishments.
  • Administering payroll software processes for systems such as ADP and serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Managing audits (internal/external) and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensuring accurate and on-time governmental reporting and compliance.
  • Serving as subject matter expert for payroll systems.
  • Maintaining and optimizing payroll systems.
  • Generating and analyzing payroll reports, KPIs and cost trends.
  • Reconciling payroll records with general ledger accounts.
  • Partnering with Finance to ensure accurate labor costs reporting.
  • Investigating and resolving payroll variances and discrepancies.
  • Leading, training, and developing staff (if applicable).
  • Identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supporting HR transformation initiatives and system upgrades.
