About The Position

Unitex is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager for its corporate headquarters located in Elmsford, NY. The role involves processing weekly payroll for over 2,100 salaried and hourly employees across multiple plants in four states, primarily using electronic information. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for creating, modifying, and running various payroll reports for accounting, finance, and auditors using Excel, ADP Workforce Now, and Paycom to ensure accuracy and provide relevant management information. Key duties also include ensuring accurate and timely accounting, recordkeeping, and management of payroll-related audits and reconciliations, processing garnishments, terminations, tax notices, and benefit changes, and calculating and processing payments to benefit providers. The manager will respond to inquiries from management, plants, and employees, provide guidance on payroll processes, and communicate information to company management through scheduled reports. This position also oversees a payroll administrator and includes other assigned payroll and finance department duties. Requirements

  • 7+ years of direct payroll experience
  • Solid understanding of Paycom and/or ADP Workforce now
  • Experience complying with wage and hour laws, garnishments, terminations, tax notices, federal and state regulations, and company policies
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and awareness of good data security practices
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong computer, math, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and be dependable and must be very organized, and very detail and deadline oriented

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for 2,100+ salaried and hourly employees in multiple plants across four states. Information is mostly received and transmitted electronically.
  • Create, modify and run various payroll reports for accounting, finance, and auditors using Excel, ADP Workforce Now and Paycom in order to ensure the accuracy of payroll and provide accurate relevant management information.
  • Ensure accurate and timely accounting, recordkeeping, and management of payroll related audits and reconciliations of payroll information
  • Process garnishments, terminations, tax notices, benefit changes and other payroll functions
  • Use payroll reports to calculate and process payments to benefit providers such as for health plans and retirement plans.
  • Respond timely to management team, plant and employee inquiries regarding payroll which may involve creating and running ad hoc reports and performing analysis of results and provide guidance to plant management on payroll related processes and issues
  • Responsible for timely communication of information to company management which includes running a series of excel based reports on a set schedule
  • Oversee a payroll administrator
  • Other payroll and finance department related duties as assigned
