About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Nashville, TN. This is a full-time, in office position. The ideal candidate will bring hands ‑ on payroll processing experience, strong attention to detail, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to thrive in a fast ‑ paced, deadline ‑ driven environment. This hourly role reports directly to the Payroll Supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of payroll processing experience (required)
  • Previous experience working with HRIS/payroll Systems (EX: Oracle, ADP, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
  • Detail ‑ oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Dependable and committed to confidentiality
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong problem ‑ solver with sound judgment
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal)
  • Eager and willing to learn new systems, tools, and processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with involuntary deductions (child support, garnishments) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, in ‑ house payroll for 3,000+ multi ‑ state employees.
  • Perform HRIS data entry (new hires, terminations, rate changes, etc.).
  • Enter payroll ‑ related information including federal and state withholding forms, direct deposit details, and tax elections.
  • Complete various payroll compliance tasks such as Employment Verification forms, Child Support Enforcement documents, and Workers' Compensation wage requests.
  • Respond to and complete State Unemployment Benefit Audit forms.
  • Serve as backup support for team members during high ‑ volume periods or scheduled time off.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Payroll Supervisor.
  • Adapt quickly to new payroll systems, processes, and technologies as needed.
