The Role As a Payroll Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Payroll Specialist and ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing for North American entities. You’ll help maintain data integrity, resolve exceptions, and deliver essential reporting to departments and agencies, all while contributing to process improvements and employee experience. Requirements

  • FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification), or actively pursuing certification
  • Experience supporting payroll implementations, upgrades, testing, and/or parallel runs
  • Experience administering garnishments and benefits deductions
  • 2+ years of payroll experience, including multi-entity and/or multi-state processing
  • Working knowledge of payroll controls and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX concepts, audit support, data governance)
  • Experience with time and attendance and payroll systems; ability to troubleshoot errors and resolve exceptions
  • Proficiency in Excel (e.g., sum, lookups) and ability to produce reconciled payroll reports
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality; ability to meet strict deadlines in a recurring payroll close cycle
  • Good communication skills and ability to partner effectively with employees, HR, Accounting, and external vendors

Responsibilities

  • Manage time and attendance activities, partnering with managers to resolve exceptions, balance hours and earnings, and process manual payments
  • Participate in payroll process design and enhancements, applying training to improve accuracy, efficiency, and service
  • Produce and maintain payroll reporting for compliance agencies, benefit vendors, and internal stakeholders; deliver ad hoc reporting for wages, hours worked, garnishments, and deferrals
  • Serve as payroll subject matter expert during implementations, upgrades, and change events, supporting testing and issue triage
  • Crosstrain across payroll processes to provide backup coverage and ensure continuity of operations
  • Develop and maintain training programs and materials for payroll products
  • Partner with Accounting to support payroll billing, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and related processes
