About The Position

North State Grocery is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our team and provide temporary coverage during an employee’s paid family leave. This position will continue until the incumbent returns to work or until coverage is no longer required (expected duration approximately 6–9 months). With 1,000+ employees across 20 retail locations, our payroll office is fast-paced and an excellent place to learn about our operations and Employee Ownership.

Requirements

• You’re organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter who enjoys working on a computer in a small, collaborative office.
• Strong typing and computer skills are required, along with a positive attitude and reliable work habits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee and employment records
• Ensure compliance across the hiring process for all locations
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and provide records as needed
• Order and track drug tests, employee uniform orders, and office supplies
