Job Summary The Payroll Clerk assists the Payroll Manager in handling and processing payroll for 700+ employees through Paycom. The Payroll Clerk processes invoices related to Payroll, performs GL Account reconciliations, and provides Payroll reporting and analysis.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of basic accounting terminology
  • Basic computer skills are required in order to perform basic data entry
  • Basic knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under stress
  • Understand and follow instructions
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or similar field; or a have a certified payroll professional accreditation; or at least 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and other off-cycle payroll
  • Review and process timecards
  • Collect and process daily reports
  • Distribute all signed checks as required
  • File and store all internal reports
  • Track employee receivables, annuities, loans, and garnishments
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and for payment
  • Prepare and maintain payroll reports, spreadsheets, correspondences, and other files
  • Prepare ledger entries with earnings and deductions
  • Assist in monthly closing by reviewing balance sheets
  • Perform filing, copying, and scanning of payroll records
  • Attend to payroll inquiries from employees
  • Other duties as assigned
