Energetic, supportive, and collaborative working environment Continuous employee development, coaching, and training Work-life balance WHAT YOU'LL DO: GENERAL SUMMARY: The Payroll Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all employee payroll, commissions, bonuses, and expense reimbursements for the company. This role serves as the primary liaison between the company and its external payroll agency, ensuring payroll data, employee changes, and compliance requirements are properly communicated and executed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: This position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage complex pay structures while supporting employees and leadership with accurate payroll reporting and documentation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll or accounting experience
  • Experience working with a payroll agency or PEO environment
  • Demonstrated experience processing commissions and bonus structures
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll processes, including commissions and incentive-based compensation
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet payroll deadlines
  • Proficient with Excel and payroll systems

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred
  • Payroll certification (CPP or FPC) preferred but not required
  • Accounting or finance coursework preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including hourly, salaried, commission, and bonus compensation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the company’s payroll agency regarding payroll processing, taxes, garnishments, and compliance matters
  • Compile and submit payroll inputs including hours worked, commissions, bonuses, PTO, and deductions
  • Review payroll registers and reports for accuracy prior to final submission
  • Administer expense reimbursement processing and documentation
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll statements
  • Maintain payroll records and audit documentation in accordance with company policy and legal requirements
  • Coordinate new hire, termination, compensation, and status changes with payroll agency
  • Ensure payroll operations comply with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Support year-end payroll activities including audits and tax reporting
  • Generate payroll, labor cost, and compensation reports for leadership as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee data
