About The Position

The Payroll and HR Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll while supporting various human resources functions within the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and employment laws, thereby safeguarding the company from legal risks. The specialist will manage employee records, benefits administration, and assist in recruitment and onboarding processes to foster a positive employee experience. By collaborating closely with finance and management teams, the role ensures seamless integration of payroll and HR activities that support organizational goals. Ultimately, this position contributes to maintaining a motivated and well-supported workforce through meticulous attention to detail and effective communication.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing and human resources support.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and employment laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The Payroll and HR Specialist utilizes their expertise in payroll software and HRIS systems daily to accurately process employee compensation and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills are essential for managing complex payroll data and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication skills enable the specialist to address employee questions and collaborate with various departments to resolve payroll and HR issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
  • Prior use of ADP for Payroll and HR activites

  • Process and verify payroll data to ensure accurate and timely payment to employees, including deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, while serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Support recruitment efforts by coordinating job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and facilitating onboarding activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and company policies by staying current with regulatory changes and implementing necessary updates.
