Payroll and Finance Supervisor
About The Position
Wessuc Inc. is seeking a Payroll & Finance Supervisor to join their team in Brantford. This role involves processing payroll, supporting key finance functions, and coordinating the daily activities of the Finance team. The successful candidate will lead payroll processing, oversee timekeeping, benefits administration, payroll compliance, remittances, and year-end reporting. They will also support accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and other finance-related activities. Additionally, the role requires providing leadership, guidance, and support to the finance and administrative team, investigating and resolving payroll and finance-related issues, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance role
- Experience independently processing end-to-end Canadian payroll
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, CRA requirements, and payroll best practices
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with payroll, accounting, and spreadsheet software, including Mac-based applications such as Numbers
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Nice To Haves
- Additional education or certification in payroll or administration
- PCP designation

Responsibilities
- Lead the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll and related employee records
- Oversee timekeeping, benefits administration, payroll compliance, remittances, and year-end reporting
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and other finance-related activities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team responsible for finance and administrative functions
- Investigate and resolve payroll and finance-related issues while serving as a resource to employees and managers
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and departmental performance
