About The Position

National Storage is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist. This position will report to the People Operations Director and will be based in Greenwood Village. Our ideal candidate has experience working with Dayforce. The role is Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days a week (M-W) in our office.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
3+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience
Strong understanding of payroll procedures
Experience with Dayforce Preferred
Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers
Ability to maintain sensitive employee information in a confidential manner
Excellent computer skills; i.e., Excel, Outlook, Word
Current working knowledge of state and federal tax regulations
Understanding of basic accounting principles

CPP Certification preferred

Responsibilities

Processes bi-weekly payroll and semi-monthly payrolls for approximately 1500 employees with a high degree of attention to detail.
Process ad-hoc same day payments for terminations.
Research issues and follow up on employee questions in a timely manner.
Responsible for tracking all payroll changes unique to NSA Storage including Employee referrals; bonus payments; temporary allowances and Living Quarter associated payments.
Responsible for timely tax payments and tax reporting through W-2s.
Monitor all new hire set up to ensure accuracy of State taxes.
Process wage garnishments.
Assist with benefits enrollment processes, including employee communication.
Undertake the monthly consolidated benefits billing and reconciliation process.
Conduct internal benefits audits to ensure compliance and accuracy (Worker's Compensation, 401k, etc.).
Ensure compliance with state-mandated healthcare regulations.
Ensure that all benefits programs comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA).
