About The Position

Alliance Technical Group is filling a Payroll and Benefits Specialist role. This position is in Decatur, AL area and is a great opportunity to join a growing company while developing your own career. The pay range of this position is $60,000 to $65,000 annually. This job pays bi-weekly with great benefits, possible annual profit sharing and vacation time. Job Summary: We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-state payroll processing and administering employee benefit programs. This role supports employees with payroll and benefit inquiries, maintains HRIS data integrity, partners with vendors, and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-state payroll processing and hands-on experience using UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) payroll and timekeeping systems. This role ensures the timely and accurate processing of payroll in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

3+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state processing.
Strong knowledge of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Nice To Haves

Proficiency with UKG (formerly UltiPro/Kronos) software for payroll and timekeeping
Experience with payroll in a mid-to-large size organization
Familiarity with garnishments, benefit deductions, and PTO policies
International payroll processing is a plus

Responsibilities

Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for multi-state employees using UKG.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws in multiple U.S. states.
Audit and reconcile payroll data, including new hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, and deductions.
Collaborate with HR, Finance and department managers to ensure payroll information is up-to-date and accurate.
Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with tax filings, year-end reporting, and the distribution of W-2s and other required documents.
Prepare payroll reports for internal stakeholders, audits, and regulatory agencies.
Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations, tax laws, and best practices.
Support system upgrades, testing, and process improvement initiatives within the UKG platform.
