About The Position

Clean Harbors is looking for a Payroll Analyst responsible for supporting, assisting, and guiding in the processing of all payrolls to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant outcomes, including ongoing payrolls and year-end processing. This role involves preparing a broad variety of reports and dashboards to support various business needs, maintaining the current payroll system setup, and implementing updates for new earnings codes, calendar year changes, etc. The analyst will also provide technical support for troubleshooting system issues, collaborating with system users, IT staff, and/or vendors to analyze and resolve problems. Additionally, the role requires monitoring and reporting on adherence to union collective bargaining agreements, legislation, policies, and procedures, and initiating necessary changes to payroll systems. Key activities include reporting, continuous improvement, engaging with partners and stakeholders, helping to set departmental priorities, and interpreting payroll policies and procedures for field and corporate locations. The analyst will identify process issues, define business requirements, and work with cross-functional teams to develop, test, implement, and support solutions. This position leads and contributes to improvement initiatives, identifies process gaps, and acts as a leader in problem-solving, process creation, training, improvement, and implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience in payroll processing.
  • Experience with payroll systems.
  • Ability to prepare reports and dashboards.
  • Technical support skills for system troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements, legislation, policies, and procedures related to payroll.
  • Ability to interpret payroll policy and procedures.
  • Skills in identifying process issues and defining business requirements.

Responsibilities
