About the Role As a Payroll Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while also contributing to system optimization and continuous improvement. This role goes beyond traditional payroll—offering exposure to Workday Payroll systems and process enhancements. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally, solve complex payroll challenges, and contribute to system implementations and enhancements that elevate the associate experience.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll and/or HRIS systems
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance (federal, state, local regulations)
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
  • Proficiency in Excel and other business tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday Payroll module
  • Experience supporting or participating in HRIS/payroll system implementations or conversions
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) similar certification

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing across biweekly cycles with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
  • Review, audit, and validate payroll data including timecards, earnings, deductions, and tax elections
  • Process complex payroll scenarios such as retro pay, terminations, LOAs, and off-cycle payments
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to resolve payroll inquiries and improve processes
  • Leverage Workday Payroll and Time & Labor to generate insights, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and testing (including UAT and parallel runs)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as a collaborative team player and backup support across payroll operations
