This Payroll Analyst position is located in Great Neck, NY. The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate computation, withholding, and deductions associated with net earnings. They ensure payroll policies comply with government regulations and resolve employee inquiries regarding paychecks. This role also involves organizing and reviewing forms for federal, state, and local authorities, such as W-2s.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • Experience in payroll accounting and posting of weekly payroll journal entries
  • 3-5 years payroll and tax experience
  • Multi-state payroll experience and solid grasp of payroll rules
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong team skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Workday experience helpful, but not required
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within payroll, changes in wage and tax laws

Responsibilities

  • Transmission of multi-state weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for multiple companies
  • Reconciles payroll each pay period for hours, earnings and deductions
  • Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll related matters
  • Maintaining employee records
  • Coordinating with HR to ensure correct employee data
  • Assist with system maintenance: calendars, bonus processing
  • Provide reports to finance and other departments as necessary
  • Audits timekeeping records for compliance with established policies and procedures, as necessary
  • Other duties, as may be required
